What the IAC offers
Instruction built around the student
All lessons are given by professional coaches with years of experience. We never use “canned” curricula — regardless of a student's progress or needs, each lesson is individually prepared.
Private Lessons
Every lesson is custom-designed for you, and the first evaluation lesson is free.
Group Lessons
For students of a similar skill level, usually focused on game analysis.
Online Lessons
We use Zoom, Skype, or Hangouts, paired with Lichess.
Training Camps
Day-long or week-long intensive sessions.
Tournaments
We host both online and in-person scholastic and open tournaments.

How online lessons work
Online Lessons
Many of our instructors offer online lessons, which are less expensive than in-person lessons and come with a few advantages of their own. We use a video call interface alongside a chess website with an interactive board — typically Lichess.org or Chess.com — to analyze positions with students in real time.
Online lessons also let students save the positions used in each lesson for later review, and make it easy to send games and exercises for further study between sessions.
