What to expect
How our tournaments are run
Every IAC event is organized by grade band, with both rated and non-rated options so new players can compete without the pressure of a rating, and experienced players can post official results.
K–5 & K–8
Individual and team standings, with a non-rated track for first-time competitors.
K–12
Our open scholastic section for advanced middle and high school players.
Rated & Non-Rated
US Chess-rated sections run alongside casual, non-rated sections at most events.
Lichess Events
Selected tournaments are also run online through Lichess for remote participants.
